William "Tim" Baxter Ellis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Tim" Baxter Ellis, who departed this life on March 18, 2026, at the age of 76. Tim was born on February 23, 1950 in Cleveland County.
Tim leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife Lynn Ellis; his beloved daughter Elizabeth Keilhack and her husband Kris; his treasured granddaughters, Lily Lucille Keilhack and Louisa Elliott Keilhack; as well as special nieces, Rebecca Clark, Susannah Sonbare; special nephews, Noah Clark, Joshua Clark.
Known for his warm heart and generous spirit, Tim was the epitome of a loving husband, devoted father, and a doting grandfather. His family was the center of his world and he found immense joy in creating lasting memories with those he held dear.
Tim had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures and pursued his interests with genuine enthusiasm. He treasured the special moments spent picking berries with his daughter Elizabeth, creating indelible memories that will last forever. His passion for history brought the past to life through his stories and knowledge, while his love for antiques reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and heritage.
A skilled woodworker, Tim found satisfaction in creating beautiful pieces with his hands, leaving behind tangible reminders of his talent and dedication. He was also an avid motor sports enthusiast who never missed an opportunity to enjoy NASCAR and other forms of racing, sharing in the excitement and community that the sport provided.
Tim's love for firearms reflected his interest in history, craftsmanship, and collecting, bringing him into contact with fellow enthusiasts who became part of his extended community.
A service to celebrate his life will be 11:00am, March 25, 2026 Red Door Chapel, 413 W Marion St, Shelby, NC 28150.
Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park, Shelby, NC.
