Willie Boyd Owens, 78 of 1023-1 Marys Grove Church Road, Kings Mountain
passed away, Friday, December 29, 2017 at Hospice at Wendover.

Born July 15, 1939 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Clifford
Dexter Owens and Essie Mae Johnson Owens. He was retired from South Pine
Needles as a truck driver.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamera
Canipe; three brothers, Jesse Owens, Eddie Owens and Bill Owens; and two
sisters, Christine Cline and Lona Mae Craig.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rose Dean Owens; a son, Timothy Boyd Owens
of Denver; two daughters, Mealony Dawn Owens of Gaston Co. and Elisebeth
Owens Johnson of Forest City; step daughter, Jeana Mitchem; two sisters,
Martha Owens of Shelby and Alisa Owens of Winston-Salem; a brother, Clifford
Owens of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Christopher Friday, Caleb
Thompson, Brandon Owens, Sara Owens, Courtney Laws and Allen Johnson and
three great-grandchildren, Justice Friday, Daniel Friday and Carleigh
Friday.

Visitation will be 2:00PM until 3:00PM Sunday at Wallace Grove Baptist
Church.

A funeral service will be 3:00PM Sunday at Wallace Grove Baptist Church with
Revs. Ernie Cole and Don Caple officiating.

Burial will follow in Wallace Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
