Woodrow Lafoy "Foy" Brackett, 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 04, 2026, at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cherryville, NC.

He was born on December 31, 1934, in Cleveland County, and was a son to the late W.T. "Bert" Brackett and Edith Hayes Brackett. Foy was a master home builder, and Eagle Scout and a longtime active member of First Methodist Church of Lawndale. He also served his country in the US Army. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Jeanne Elizabeth Smawley Brackett and his sister, Deane Towery and husband Joe.

He is survived by his son, Woodrow Brackett, Jr and wife Sandy of Grover; daughter, Lynn Grimes and husband Gordon of Cary; granddaughter Abby Murray and husband Trey of Raleigh; two brothers, Bill Brackett and wife Sally of Browns Summit and Jim Brackett and wife Annie Ruth of Lawndale.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 PM at First Methodist Church of Lawndale.

A private burial will be held at Palm Tree Church Cemetery in Lawndale, NC.
