Amy Sue Sparks Spangler

Amy Sue Sparks Spangler, age 88, died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at her home. Born in Cleveland County on August 7 1930, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Edgar and Addie Crotts Sparks. Amy was an active member of Double Shoals Baptist Church; she sang in the choir and served on various committees. She was administrative assistant at Burns and Spangler Inc., Construction Company, and was an integral part of the daily operations. Amy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and family was most important to her. She enjoyed playing bridge and host gatherings for friends and families. In addition to her parents, Amy is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert Earl Spangler; a brother, Gerald Sparks; and a sister, Fidelia Edney,

Amy is survived by two daughters; Kim Craig and husband Dr. Michael Craig of Matthews and Kathy Bridges and husband Mark of Boiling Springs, a sister, Faye Spangler of Shelby; Five grandchildren Andrew Craig and wife Claire, Catherine Fulginiti and husband Max, Laura Perdue and husband David, Jaime Beason and husband Josh and Nicole Bridges as well as seven great-grandchildren; Emma Craig, Elise Craig, Roman Fulginiti, Eliza Beason, Mavryk Beason, Mackenzie Bridges and Micah Sistare; and a special niece, Debbie Edney, who lovingly assisted the family with her care.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Double Shoals Baptist Church on Tuesday October 9, 2018 with Dr. R. Brian Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive following the graveside in the fellowship hall.
