Bible Study: Believeth Please Read Slow
Sometime back I had a conversation with a person about the Bible, going to church, and not going to church. I would never tell a person you have to go to church to get into Heaven. Some do. I would never tell a person that you have got to be baptized and let that forgive you of your sins, some do. The one that I was talking to said all you had to do was believe a little and go to Heaven. Believeth is used and when spoken spiritually means to take possession. John 11:25 says: “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” The soul lives on. After the last breath, the soul will be transferred into eternity.
John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We are talking about a complete trust. In who? God, Father, Almighty, Son who paid the price for you, Holy Ghost shows that he rose from the grave. When you are granted forgiveness, the God Head expects you to stay out of the sinning business. Jesus says go and sin no more. No one ever has been and will ever be put on the seat of do nothing. Any born again saved person can receive a Disciple’s Reward. Isaiah 8:16 says: “Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.” All for a purpose. After you are Saved-Born again, the first work the Lord expects out of you is to tell the world, or part of it, that you don’t belong to it anymore. You now have a new Father and you are free from sin. Your new Father God gives you Salvation, and with Salvation is your key to Heaven. You need to show the Lord that you want others to go with you by showing respect to the world, how a Christian should walk and talk. Friendly but with no gossip. Let your first conversation be with a smile and a hand shake. If possible make friends so they will want to be around you.
