|Charles Gerald Propst
|Charles Gerald Propst, 83, of 3541 Fallston Road, Shelby, died, June 26,
2014, at home. He was born on December 9, 1930 to the late Tom Propst and
Bessie Ledford Propst. He was retired from Lithium Corporation and FMC
Technology where he served as accounting supervisor. He was a member of
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fallston Masonic Lodge, Oasis Shriners, and
served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers; J.C.
Propst, Alvin Propst, Fred Propst, and Cecil Propst, sisters; Selma
Brackett, and Ponese Propst.
Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Frances Costner Propst,
daughter, Susan Propst Johnson and husband Paul, of Atlanta, Georgia,
sister; Annie Ruth Carpenter, of Lawndale, NC; granddaughter; Kaitlyn
Elizabeth Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Hospice Cleveland County for
all their help.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, June 28, 2014, 4-6 P.M., at
Stamey Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held, Sunday, June 29, 2014, 2 P.M., at Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Black and Joe Edwards officiating. The
body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites by
Fallston Masonic Lodge.
