It was almost 11 p.m. when two buses, containing the 3A Crest Chargers champions, pulled up to the Crest field house. Over 200 fans greeted the team with signs and cheers. Inside, Coach Mark Barnes addressed the team and coaches. He said: "Be humble about the championship win." As he looked at all the players he continued: "It's not about you, it's about what we can accomplish as a group." As the South Mountain Athletic Conference "Coach Of The Year", Barnes held the state championship trophy surrounded by his coaches and staff. He congratulated the seniors for a great job and then added "As for the rest of you who will be returning next year: "Let's do it again!
