David M. Hobart

KINGS MOUNTAIN- David M. Hobart, 86, of 1001 Phifer Road, passed away Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Wendover Hospice. A native of Medina County, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Bryson and Mildred Schlaubach Hobart. First and foremost he was a gentleman, he was a family man who loved and adored his wife and children and by living his life for Christ was able to instill in his children how their life should be lived. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was extremely active in St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as Lector among other duties. He loved the water from swimming to sailing.

PRECEDED: in addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a grand daughter, Kristin Andrews Tucker.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife, Patricia Paul Hobart; one son, Sean Hobart and wife Colleen of Kings Mountain; four beautiful daughters, Cathleen Webb of Shelby, Kimberly Glenn and husband Gary of Columbia, SC, Heather Dover and husband Buster of Shelby, Lydia Myrick and husband Scott of Indian Land, SC; one brother, Paul Hobart and wife Peggy of Newland, NC; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Erin, Carter, Jacob, Emily, Luke, Ella Rose, and Michael; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; several nephews.

SERVICES: The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Kottar, celebrant.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends after the funeral Mass in the church hall.

BURIAL: inurnment will be at a later date and private to the family.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights drive, Shelby, NC 28150 or Cleveland County Humane Society, 1609 East Marion Street, Shelby, NC 28150
