ELLENBORO - Ellen Hardin Philbeck, 87, of Harmon Road, Ellenboro, died on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on February 13, 1928, a daughter of the late Jeff Hardin and Effie Hardin. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and retired from PPG and Food Lion. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Huette Donald "Whistle" Philbeck and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son, Keith Philbeck and Penny Beal of Charleston, SC; her daughters, Donna Parker and husband Paul of Rutherfordton, Faye Lail of Ellenboro, Sharon Dill and husband Tommy of Spindale and Judy Privitera and husband Frank of Ellenboro; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Danny Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
