Crouse - Mr. Henry Aker Martin, 88, of 2341 W. Hwy. 150, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Martin was born in Cherokee County, SC on April 22, 1926 a son of the late Aker Martin and Ophie Martin. He was retired as a surveyor for Duke Power and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jane Beam Martin; a son, Lanny Martin; a daughter, Debbie Martin and a grandson, Jason Beam and 15 siblings.

Survivors include three sons, Don Beam and Keith Martin of Lincolnton and Danny Martin of Crouse; three daughters, Gaye Abernathy of Vale; Donna Stamper of Lincolnton and Sherry Martin of Vale; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 2:30 to 3:45PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service and at other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 4:00PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating.

Burial will be at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard.
