Howard "Homer" Wall
Howard "Homer" Wall, age 88, of Forest City, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Willow Ridge Rehab and Living Center.
Born on Monday, November 7, 1927 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Lawrence Wall and Annie Odessa Short Wall. Homer worked for Cone Mills-Haynes Plant for forty years before retirement and was a longtime member of Haynes Memorial Baptist Church. He also served faithfully as a deacon at the church. He was member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460 for many years. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Buck" Wall and Bob Wall.
Survivors include his wife of seventy years, Mabel Watson Wall; one daughter, Debra Womick and husband, Terry of Caroleen; two sons, Wayne Wall and wife, Betty also of Caroleen and Ronnie Wall and wife, Revonda of Bostic; two sisters, Frances Fish of Virginia and Shirley Gosey of Sandy Mush. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Terri Walker and husband, Chad, Robin Saunders, Charlie Wall, Tyler Dobbins, Staci Roche and husband, Mark, Chad Radford and wife, Chrissy and Dana Radford; nine great-grandchildren, Crestin Walker, Hunter Walker, Will Saunders, Jonah Dobbins, Spencer Dobbins, James Roche, Jackson Roche, Eric Parker and Tray Greene.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Haynes Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Hubert Street and Reverend Dwayne Scruggs officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
