Mr. Johnny M. Barnette, 79, of Pleasant Grove Church Rd., went to be with his Lord, Thurs., June 20, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Esley Newton and Jessie Eva Hamrick Barnette. Johnny was a man who started with very little in life, later developing the entrepreneurial mindset owning Barnette’s Beehive, with his son, Gary, since 1969, and Barnette’s Variety Store.
