Kimberly Dawn Whitworth, age 28, died Friday April 4, 2014 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born on July 29, 2014 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Darrell Whitworth of Shelby and Linda Boheler Harris of Charlotte. Kim was baptized at Christ the King Church in Shelby. She attended Crest High School and graduated from Sun Valley High School in Charlotte. Kim was a former waitress at Applebee’s in Shelby. She enjoyed painting and doing art work.  Some of her work has been displayed in a gallery in Charlotte and she was a former winner of the Blooming Arts Festival. Kim is preceded in death by her grandfathers, J. L. Whitworth and David Boheler.

In addition to her parents, Kim is survived by her children, Gabe Burchfield, Lula Burchfield, Marley Burchfield, and Stevie Pruitt all of the home; her brothers and sister, Brad Whitworth, Wesley Whitworth, and Kristen Whitworth all of Shelby; her grandmothers, Mary Stroupe of Clover SC, and Brenda Whitworth of Grover; best friends, Micki Mellon, Ashely Marshall, and Adam Williams;  and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 4:00pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Charlie Baker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
