Margie Lee Crump Hamrick, age 83, of Morrow Motor Road, Forest City, died Monday, December 22, 2014 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born February 8, 1931 in Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter to the late Harvey and Virginia Crump. Margie was a homemaker and a longtime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She enjoyed her church family and loved travelling with the Senior group. Margie also loved preparing meals for her family and was a puzzle enthusiast.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, James Howard Hamrick; son, Doug Hamrick; daughter, Marilyn Green; two brothers, Jerry and Richard Crump; two sisters, Fay and Joyce Ann Crump and one grandson, Derek Hamrick.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Brenda Hamrick of Forest City; two brothers, Harry and Paul Crump; sister, Brenda Mathis all of Lincolnton, NC; four grandchildren, James Green, Matt Green, Billy Hamrick, Leann Hamrick; four great-grandchildren, which includes Alexis and Makayla Hamrick and brother-in-law, Kenneth Greene of Lawndale, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the church sanctuary.
