Rosetta Smith Lynch

Mrs. Rosetta Smith Lynch, 67, of 1208 Meadow Wood Drive, Shelby, NC departed her earthly vessel on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.  She was born Monday, June 9, 1947 to Leon Smith and Etoulia Caldwell-Smith  in Smyrna, SC. 

Rosetta was reared in education in the Rutherfordton County Schools Systems.  She retired from Invensys Sensor Systems (formerly Fasco Controls Inc.) of Shelby, NC.  Rosetta was married to William M. Lynch, her husband of 43 precious years.  To this union were born four sons, Eric, Kelvin, Calvin, and Barry.  Rosetta found her passion in cooking and baking in which she loved to do for so many in “Roe’s Kitchen.” She also enjoyed sewing, spending time hanging out and shopping with her two sisters Lena & Dianne and spending time with her grandchildren.  

Evangelist Lynch was a member of St. Luke Fire Baptized Holiness Church in Forest City, NC.  There she served faithfully in numerous capacities:  Deaconess, Licensed Minister, Trustee Secretary, Assistant Sunday School Teacher, & Church Treasurer.  She also served in the positions of Ambassador for Christ and District Evangelist for the Western North Carolina District of the FBH Church.  She attended Carolina University of Theology in which she majored in Biblical Studies, minored in Christian Education and earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies as an honor student graduating with a GPA of 3.89.  Evangelist Lynch served the Lord faithfully with all her heart, mind, and soul and lived a lifestyle of holiness everywhere she went. She would often say “I’m living to live again.”  She would testify that “I’m in what I love and I love what I’m in!”  In her testimony she proclaimed “I Got Saved To See What A Child Of God Gets For Living Holy!”  Evangelist Lynch loved to sing, play the piano, and was a dynamic preaching Woman of God. Her mission was to tell a dying world about Jesus Christ. 

In addition to her parents, Rosetta was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Smith and one son, Barry Cornelius Lynch.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her husband, William M. Lynch of the home; three sons, Eric Lynch (Djakarta) of Winston-Salem, NC, Kelvin Lynch (Katrina) of Kings Mountain, NC and Calvin Lynch (Tia) of Charlotte, NC; five brothers, Clinzo Smith (Pauline), Walker Smith and Truman Smith (Brenda) al of Baltimore, MD, Joe Smith of Rutherfordton, NC and Franklin Smith (Becky) of Kings Mountain, NC; two sisters, Verlena Guest and Dianne Littlejohn both of Shelby, NC; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Lynch and Keturah Lynch; two step-grandchildren, Vonkysha Watkins and Noreaja Watkins; a special niece, who was like a daughter, Velma Manning of Shelby, NC; one aunt, Essie Smith of Blacksburg, SC; one uncle, Victor Caldwell of Charlotte, NC; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Lynch of Rutherfordton, NC and Tyrone Lynch of Wilmington, NC; a very special friend, Rozena Tolbert of Shelby and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved and whom loved her; numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 1:00 PM at New Bethel A.ME. Zion Church in Forest City, NC with Pastor L.C. Wright officiating and Elder Calvin J. Lynch delivering the eulogy.  Burial will take place at Webb Memorial Lawns in Shelby.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM at the church on Saturday and at other times at the home.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
