Mr. Russell “Rusty” Davis Jr., 62, died Tues., July 1, 2014, at his home.  A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Russell Davis Sr., of Shelby, and the late Jackie Parker Davis.  He graduated from Shelby High School, served in the Army, and later graduated from U.N.C. Chapel Hill, with a degree in journalism. For more than 20 years, he has worked for the Post Office in Charlotte.

PRECEDED: In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mildred Keeter Davis.

SURVIVED:  In addition to his father, he is survived by his brother, Robert “Bob” Davis, of Atlanta.

SERVICES:  Saturday, 11a.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION:  The family will receive friends one hour, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
