Benjamin C. Lanier
 Benjamin C. Lanier, 72, of 901 Bear Creek Road, passed away Thursday, April 28th, 2011 at his residence.
 
Born in Blacksburg, Mr. Lanier was the husband of Judy Mae Parris Lanier of the home and the son of the late Jim and Ila Rae Lanier.  He retired as an electrician, was the owner of Ben's Amusement in Blacksburg for many years, and was a member of Cherokee Falls Baptist Church.
 
Mr. Lanier is survived by his wife, Judy; a son, Barry Lanier and wife, Lori, of Blacksburg; a daughter, Joy Guyton and husband, Gene, of Pacolet; a brother, Bill Lanier, of Blacksburg; a sister, Edith Martin, of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Christopher, Mitchell, and Austin Lanier, Jonathan Parris and wife, Karen, Michael and Amber Guyton; and three great-grandchildren, Nathan Parris, Preston Blackwell, Jessie Hamrick, Daniel and Connor McCutcheon.
 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lanier was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Lanier.
 
The family will receive friends Friday, April 29th, 2011 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm at Gordon Mortuary.  Cryptside services will be held Saturday, April 30th, at 1:00pm at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 1886, Gaffney, SC 29342, or to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 North Limestone Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.
 
The family will be at the residence.
