Billy White Bradshaw
 Billy White Bradshaw, 82, of 6132 Old Shelby Rd, Vale, passed away
Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Hospice House of Catawba Valley in Newton.

He was born in Cleveland County on December 22, 1929, to the late Lester
White Bradshaw and Fannie Mabelle Miller Bradshaw Gantt.  He retired after
thirty-five years as foreman for six counties with the NC Department of
Transportation out of the Shelby office and was a member of Ebenezer United
Methodist Church where he held many offices and was former youth leader. An
avid UNC fan, Mr. Bradshaw was the  basketball coach of the Minuettets at
George Hildebran School and was PTA president at George Hildebran and Fred
T. Ford High School.  He played Santa for many years at Valley Hills Mall in
Hickory and was a member of the Ruritan Club where he held many offices.
Instrumental in organizing the  Cooksville Fire Department, he was a charter
member as well as serving on their board of directors for many years.

In addition to his parents,  he was preceded in death by three brothers,
Willard, Forrest and Roy Lee Bradshaw and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Lutz Bradshaw; son, Steve Bradshaw and
wife Mary of Vale; daughter, Kim Bradshaw of Vale; brother, Wayne Bradshaw
of Lawndale; and  grandson, Billy Bradshaw of Vale.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday at Stamey
Funeral Home in Fallston and from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Sunday at Ebenezer
United Methodist Church.  A guest register is available at
www.stameyfuneralhome.com.

The funeral will be at  3:00 pm Sunday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church
in Vale with Rev. Tony Sayer officiating.  The body will be placed in the
church one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church
cemetery.
