Mrs. Carrie Mae Blanton Lee, 89, of Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011. Services were held at Double Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park. 

Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Lee; her parents, John Adram Blanton and Analda Wilson Blanton; 2 brothers, Raymond K. Jones and J.V. Blanton; 4 sisters, Ann Blanton Hardy, Nell Weaver, Beatrice Washburn, and Martha Bagwell; and 3 brothers-in-law, Houston Bagwell, Reburn Washburn, and Ishmael Weaver.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Joyce Lee Peeler and husband Otis of Lawndale; 1 son, Steven Howard Lee of High Shoals; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 brother, John Blanton and wife Frances of Shelby; 1 sister, Sara Anthony and husband Larry of Shelby; 1 brother-in-law, John Hardy of Greesboro; and 1 sister-in-law, Rosa Lee Blanton of Spartanburg, SC.
