Evan Wess Allen, 24, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at home.  A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Terry Allen and Judy Mauney of Shelby.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Charleen Allen and Clyde Mauney.

Other than his parents Mr. Allen is survived his grandmother, Juanita Mauney; his brother Sgt. Aaron Allen wife Katie of Baumholder, Germany; a special friend, Danielle Byers; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Aldersgate Methodist Church in Shelby.  Burial will be immediately following at Beaver Dam Baptist Church cemetery.  The Rev. Wayne Allen will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At other times the family will be at the home of Juanita Mauney, 292 Clinton Street, Shelby NC 28150.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory to help defray funeral expenses.
