Evelona Sarah Gladden Sain, 99, of 8195 Hwy 27 W., Vale, passed away Sunday,
January 22, 2012 at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.
Mrs. Sain was born in Cleveland County, on June 23, 1912, to the late Will
Gladden and Anna Hartman Gladden. She was a retired seamstress and was a
member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Sain was the former
Sunday school superintendent for Hebron United Methodist Church and a former
Sunday school teacher.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph
Franklin Sain; son, Bill Sain; four brothers, Ernest Gladden, Edwin Gladden,
Jack Gladden, and Hovis Gladden; and sister, Edith Mull.
Mrs. Sain is survived by her daughter-in-law, Vertie Lee Sain of Vale,
granddaughter, Gay Sain and partner Theresa Moore of Charlotte; sister, Dee
Vee Houser of Vale and sister-in-law, Betty Gladden of Morganton.
Visitation, 6:00 PM to 8:000 PM, Monday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Laurel Hill United Methodist Church,
Vale. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the
service.
