Floye Martin Southards, 89, of Lawndale, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at
Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.
Born March 10, 1922 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Clem
Martin and Elsie Beam Martin. She was retired from Cleveland Mills in
Lawndale as an inspector. Mrs. Southards was a member of Lawndale Baptist
Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John
Jackson "Jack" Southards and brothers, Robert Martin and W.T. Martin and
sister, Evelyn Parker.
Survivors: three sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Becky Southards of
Shelby, Joe and Evelyn Southards of Cherryville and Tom and Mary Southards
of N. Canton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Sabrina Southards-Schultes, Michael
Southards and Nicole Southards Maarschalkerweerd; and sister, Doyle Moore of
Valdese.
Visitation: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, Wednesday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
