Furman Lee Webber
 Furman Lee Webber of the Carillon Assisted Living Facility of Shelby, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Furman was born on November 9, 1929, the son of Ralph Furman and Willie Bell Jones Webber. He was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Shelley Webber, and his sister, Elsie Glenn.
> He was a general contractor and owner of Webber Construction Company and built numerous churches in and around Cleveland, Gaston and Rutherford Counties during his career.
> A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was a member of Zoar Baptist Church of Shelby where he was a former deacon, choir member, RA leader and baseball coach for the youth. He was a member of the 1945 American Legion Baseball Team that won the World Series and it became his favorite thing to reminisce in his later years. In his younger years, he loved to fly airplanes and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was living on Lake Hickory when he retired from the construction business and enjoyed riding around the lake on his pontoon boat with family and friends.
> He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Louise Standridge Webber; two sons, Mike Webber and wife Patsy of Shelby and Joey Webber of Lincolnton; one daughter, Kay W. Crawley and husband Doug of Cherryville; two granddaughters, Heather C. Holt of Cherryville and Jennifer W. Hyde and husband Jason of Shelby; three great granddaughters, Chloe Holt of Cherryville, and Shelby and Savannah Hyde of Shelby; two brothers, Johnny Webber and wife Dorothy of Cherryville, and Bill Webber and wife Donna of Shelby; one very special sister Rachel W. Crowe and husband Roger of Shelby; and a very close friend of the family, Martha F. Ledford and husband Dean of Shelby.
> Visitation: The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Zoar Baptist Church. At other times, the family will be at the home of Mike and Patsy Webber of 116 Dellinger Road, Shelby.
> Celebration of Life Service: Tuesday at 2 p.m. following the visitation 
> Officiated By: Drs. Rob Helton and John Ware
> Burial: Following the service at Cleveland Memorial Park in Boiling Springs
> Funeral Home: Clay- Barnette Funeral Home
