| Helen Gray Ledford, 98, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Catawba she was the daughter of the late James and Beatrice Gray. She was also preceded in death by her husband the Rev. Frank Ledford, one brother Hogue Gray and one sister Birdie Gray. Helen was a Pastor’s wife and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and playing the piano both at home and in the church. She dearly loved and enjoyed her family.
Mrs. Ledford is survived by one daughter, Delores Ledford of Raleigh, NC; two sons, George Ledford and wife Peggy of Grover, NC and Frank Ledford and wife Lynn of Shelby, NC; four grandchildren, Angela Blanton of Grover, Toni Gaskill and husband Kelly of Wilmington, NC, Christy Miranda and husband Moises of Gastonia, NC, Shelley Rempson and husband Eddie of Boiling Springs, NC; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; one sister Inez McClure of Marion, NC; and a host of nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. The Rev. Glen Walker will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Oak Grover Cemetery in Marion, NC.
