He retired from Standard Trucking Company and worked for Putnam Distributors. He was a member of

Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church where he was very active and sang in the choir.  An avid golfer, he

loved to play,especially with the senior group.  Mr. Greene loved bluegrass music.  He was a proficient fiddle

player and loved to play with the Leonard McSwain band.  He served in the U. S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Greene & Woody Greene and a sister,

Helen G. George.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Martha Vinesett Greene of the home; a son,

Mike Greene & wife Debbie of Grover; a daughter, Carol Hoyle & husband Sonny of Lawndale; a brother Frank

O. Greene of Shelby; grandchildren Brad Hoyle & wife Angie, Jason Crotts & wife Mary, Josh Crotts & wife Myia

and Jeremy Wiggins; great grandchildren Tucker, Cade, Hagan, Hoyle & Gabriel Wiggins and Caleb Crotts.

The family will receive friends at Cleveland Funeral Services on Tuesday, 5:30 – 7:30 pm.  The funeral will be held

at Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Priscilla Walker officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
