| John Franklin Morris, 50, of 103 Alexander Road, Blacksburg, passed away September 7th, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Union, Mr. Morris was the husband of Wanda L. Morris of the home and the son of Nancy Ann Aycock Garner and the late Joe Dorin Morris.
He worked in maintenance for Johnson Control Co. and was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church .
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife Wanda L. Morris of the home; two sons, John Edmund Morris and spouse Amy McCoy of Gaffney, James William Morris and spouse Donna of Spartanburg, and step-son Gary Todd Norman and spouse Gail of Blacksburg, his mother Nancy Ann Aycock Garner and step-father Larry of Jonesville, brothers James Clay Morris and spouse Sandra Jean, and Joel E. Morris and spouse Barbara of Jonesville, one sister Joan Marie Crocker and spouse Paul of Jonesville, two grandchildren Violet Leann Ruby and Coralee Morris of Gaffney.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gordon Mortuary on Friday evening. Funeral services will be held at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Blacksburg at 11:00 AM Saturday morning September 10, 2011, with Rev. Jeff Gilfillan and Rev. Grady Gregory officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Oatis Brakefield, Randy Brakefield, Rick Boyd, Bobby Alexander, Marvin Phillips, Tommy George, Roger Pierce, Dolan Furr and Brent Childers.
The family will be at the residence.
