Mrs. Kay Frances Crenshaw Kester, 75, of 2528 Old Hwy. 150, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center – Lincoln.

Mrs. Kester was born on August 16, 1936 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of the late Joseph Crenshaw and Grace Morris Crenshaw.  She was a homemaker and member of Crouse Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Charles Delon Kester of the home; three sons, Charles Kester, Jr. and wife Maryann, Harold Kester and wife Jan all of Cherryville, and Wayne Kester and wife Karen; one daughter Darlene Allen and husband Harold Dean all of Lincolnton; one sister, Clara Moore of Gastonia and two brothers, Earnest Crenshaw of Warrington, NC and Gene Crenshaw of Ashburn, GA; 13 grandchildren, Michael Kester and wife April of Crouse, Daniel Kester and wife Wendy of Vale, Crystal Johnson and husband Daniel of Cherryville, Jonathan Allen, Tammy Allen, Tina Allen, Brandon Kester, Jeffery Kester, Wendy Gantt and husband Roger of Cherryville, Teresa Bivens and husband Carroll of Lincolnton, Teddy Allen, Jerry Allen and Jeffery Crisp; and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 5, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00P.M. at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home and other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 3:00P.M. at Crouse Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Bost officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
