Nancy Green Smith Grigg
 Nancy Green Smith Grigg, 90, passed away on January 1, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.  A native of Fayette County Pennsylvania she was born April 13, 1921 to Mary Strick of Hungary and George Sanford Green of Winder, Ga.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Albert George Green, and husbands High Smith and Charles L. Grigg both of Shelby.  Mrs. Grigg was employed by Bost Bakery where she typed labels for baked items, Shelby Creamery as a secretary and Dover Mill.  She  retired from J.P. Stevens after 37 years of service.  She was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church where she taught the Young at Heart Sunday School Class since 1944.  She was a volunteer for Cleveland Regional Medical Center, the Red Cross, the Cleveland County Humane Society and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Mrs. Grigg is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.  A warm-hearted thank you is extended to her special friends, Marie Isabelle, Wayne Lovelace, Jayne Shaw and Billy Heathcock.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Sharon United Methodist Church.  The Rev. April B. Abernethy will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm prior to the service at the church hut.
