Rev. Dan Wallace
SHELBY-Rev. Dan Wallace, 69, of 1050 Poplar Springs Road, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Ida “Big Momma” Wallace of Boiling Springs and the late Earl Clifford Wallace. Rev. Wallace was a graduate of Gardner Webb University. He ministered at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rutherfordton, Calvary Baptist Church for 29 years, on January 9, Dan was recognized as Pastor Emeritus, and was interim pastor at Eastside Baptist in Kings Mountain.

PRECEDED: In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wallace.

SURVIVED: In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jean Yeomans Wallace of the home; two sons, Joe Wallace and wife Karen of Florida, Michael Wallace and wife Shannon of Shelby; two daughters Debbie Hoyle and husband Kirby of Shelby, Sherry Champion and husband Keith of Shelby; four sisters, Patti Suddreth of Denver, Marlena Fuerstman of Jerusalem, Connie Wilson of Gaffney, and Tonya Larnden of Columbus; two brothers Earl Wallace and wife Betty of Oak Island, Dale Wallace and wife Yidira of Iron Station; 11 grandchildren, Emily Wallace Green and husband Brandon of Crouse, Bradley Champion, Jay Wallace, Daniel Champion, Jeannie Hoyle, Seth Buff, Suzy Hoyle, Zach Buff, Dustin Hoyle, Caleb Wallace, and Breana Wallace, all of Shelby; two great grandchildren, Becca and Maggie Champion of Shelby; and daughter in law, Cindy Wallace of Shelby.

SERVICES: Services will be held, Friday, 4pm, January 28, at Calvary Baptist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, January 28, 2-4pm at Calvary Baptist Church.

CLERGY: Revs. Tony Sisk and Richard Brown will be officiating.

BURIAL: Burial will be held, Saturday, 11am, January 29, at Cleveland Memorial Park.

MEMORIALS: May be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 320 Old Boiling Springs Rd., Shelby 28152.
