Sam Canipe, Jr.
 Sam Canipe, Jr., 83, of 302 Hulls Grove Church Rd, Vale, died Monday,
January 9, 2012 at Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Catawba Valley in
Newton.

Sam was born on February 24, 1928 in Lincoln County, to the late Samuel
Burton Canipe and Bertha Mildred Brendle Canipe.  He retired as a commercial
construction foreman and was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eva
Parker Canipe; four brothers, Lester Mack Canipe, Warren G. Canipe, Johnnie
Canipe and Tommy Canipe; and sister Fuchia Settlemeyers.

He is survived by a son, Aubrey 'Aubie' Canipe of Vale; four daughters,
Maisie Wallace and husband William of Vale, Winona Houser and husband Gene
of Vale, Gail Stiles of Vale and Donna Norman and husband Arnold of Vale; a
brother, Hugh Canipe of Lenior; two sisters, Jean Bass of Vale and Barbara
Wylie of Cherryville; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 12
step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation:  6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Stamey
Funeral Home, Fallston.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Hebron United
Methodist Church, Vale.  The body will be placed in the church thirty
minutes before the service.

Officiating, Rev. Jennifer Hege and Jonathan Hewitt

Burial: Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, Vale.
