Staff Sergeant David Allen Hunt
 Staff Sergeant David Allen Hunt, 31, of , Honolulu, HI, passed away Sunday,
August 7, 2011 at  in Honolulu.


David was born in Cleveland County, on May 6, 1980.  He was a 1998 graduate
of Burns High School.  He was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army.  Where he had
served in Bosnia-Herzogovina (April 2001 to October 2001), Korea ( May 2004
- April 2005), Afghanistan (May 2005 to April 2006) and Iraq (May 2007 to
Febuary 2008), and he was awarded a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, two Army
Commendation Medals, and five Army Achievement Medals.

He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Dwight and Naomi
Biggerstaff and John Hunt; grandparents, Janice Biggerstaff Tallent,  and
Robert William (Bill) Browning; and step-grandfather Gene Tallent.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Lynne Taylor Hunt; son, Ethan Hunt of
Honolulu, HI; daughter, Madison Hunt of Honolulu, HI; mother, Lynn Browning
Bridges and husband Dixon Bridges, Jr. of Shelby; father, Donnie Dean Hunt
and wife Kim of Shelby; two sisters, Kristina Hunt of Shelby and Reva
Holland and husband Matthew of Shelby; two brothers, Ricky Heavner and wife
Jennifer of Gastonia and Josh Patterson of Gastonia; great-grandmother, Sara
Hunt of Shelby; grandparents; Ophus and Millie Hunt of Casar; father and
mother-in-law; John & Ruth Taylor of New York; sister-in-laws; Nancy Taylor
and Elizabeth Taylor both of New York; brother-in-law; Robert Taylor of New
York; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.

Funeral Services, 3:00 p.m., Sunday,  Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church,
Casar.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
