Summie Ray Norman
 Summie Ray Norman, 79, of 310 Yarboro Road in Kings Mountain, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Kings Mountain Hospice House.  He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Jimmy Robert and Julia Morris Norman.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Max Norman, Roy Norman, Lester Norman, James Norman and Mary Reed Conner.  Mr. Norman served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of First Assembly of God in Shelby.  He was a former member of Kings Mountain Church of God where he served as a clerk for many years.  Mr. Norman owned and operated Norman’s Wood Shop. 

Mr. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Ethel Mae Bolin Norman; two daughters, Sherry Denice Allen and husband Ronald of Red Wing, MN, and Theresa Gail Bailey of Kings Mountain; three sisters, Pauline Watterson of Grover, Margaret Smith of Kings Mountain, and Ruby Huskey of Henrietta; five grandchildren, Mark Aaron Styers, Jonathan David Bailey, Amanda Marie Allen, Cliffton Ronald Allen and Suzanne Theresa Allen.

Mr. Norman loved his wife, children and grandchildren.  He prayed that God would allow him to provide for and support his family, and he did.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby.  The Rev. Bobby Watterson and Chaplain Jonathan Bailey will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service in the mausoleum at Cleveland Memorial Park.
