| Thelma Wright Blanton, age 89, formerly of Kings Mountain, NC died June 10, 2012 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC. She was born in York Co, SC, daughter of the late Rev. L.P. Wright and Ila Mae Welchel Wright. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Carl William Blanton, Jr., 2 brothers and 6 sisters. She was a homemaker and former telephone operator for Southern-Bell in Kings Mountain. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was a lifelong member of the Church of God.
SURVIVORS: Son; Gary Blanton and wife Cheryl, Raleigh Daughters; Regina Cherry and husband Cecil, Greenville, Joan Williams and husband Jay, Raleigh 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren

VISITATION: 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, June 13, 2012 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mtn. NC
