James Love Elementary fourth grader, Quintin Davidson, shared his lyrical talents with the school at PTO in December. Quintin's talent in beatboxing and rapping is quite developed for the average ten year old, but the most exciting part is his creativity.  Approached by his music teacher to write a 'Christmas Rap,' he came to school the next week with his very own song.

His father, Tony Davidson, has been a DJ for over twenty years.  Quintin began exploring his father's music at a young age, finding influences in artists like Afrika Bambaataa, The Sugarhill Gang, Michael Jackson and many others.  Soon, he experiemented copying the sounds from the music in a contemporary vocal style known as 'beatboxing.'

Quintin's love for reading propelled his lyrical abilities to new horizons.  The more books he read, the more words got in to his head, building a foundation of vocabulary that eventually transformed in to clever rap lyrics.
