Agnes Celia Gamble Smith age 90, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Born in Spartanburg County SC on October 26, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Walter Haywood Gamble and Lorena Pearl Brock Collins. Agnes was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and devoted mother. Agnes retired after 40 years, from the Cleveland County Department of Social Services Family and Children Services. In addition to her parents, Agnes is preceded in death by her husband Hartwell M. Smith, and a brother, Walter Harold Gamble.

Agnes is survived by her son, Scott H. Smith of Raleigh; a sister, Betty Jean Pearson and husband Robert of Riverside RI.; two aunts, Ruth Brock Price of Shelby and Nora Brock Loftis of Birmingham AL.; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Cleveland Memorial Park with Rev. Glenn Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home.
