Albert Benjamin "Benjie" Homesley

Albert Benjamin "Benjie" Homesley, age 58 formerly of Cherryville, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019, in Hollywood, Florida. He was born October 1, 1960 in Gaston County to Ann Burchfield Homesley and the late Albert Boyd Homesley. Benjie was a truck driver for USF Holland for over 25 years and made many friends and lasting relationships during his time on the road. On the weekends Benjie loved spending his time behind the grill. He was an excellent cook and would make a delicious meal for anyone that would sit down and eat. Benjie loved his girls Blair and Carmen more than anything and was so proud of them both. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and had a relationship with God that could be seen by all. He always had a smile on his face and was always a light to anyone's life he touched. Benjie loved South Florida and was so happy to spend his retirement in what he called paradise surrounded by so many new friends and family he gained. Benjie will be missed so deeply by all his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, Ann Homesley, he is survived by his beloved daughters, Blair Van Dyke (Alex) and Carmen Homesley (Seth Weekley); sisters, Angela Whitworth (Hoke) and Jannie Smith (Frankie Dellinger); nephews, Hoke Whitworth Jr. (Traci), John Henry Whitworth, Cameron Smith, and Carter Smith; great-nephews, Brady Cole Whitworth and Tucker Whitworth; and aunt, Doris Chronister.
