Alcina Patric “Cina” Gilliam

Ms. Alcina Patric “Cina” Gilliam, 44, formerly of 215 Best St. Apt. 18 in Shelby departed this life on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Shelby.  She was born on December 15, 1968 in Cleveland County to Patricia Christopher Smith and the late Albert Gilliam.

Alcina was a 1987 graduate of Shelby High School and attended Cleveland Community College.  Her employment included Ora Mill, Cleveland Regional Medical Center and most recently White Oak Manor Nursing Home.

“Cina”, as she was known by many, was a sweet and humble person who loved people and would do anything she could to help anyone.  She enjoyed having fun, making people laugh and playing cards.  Last but not least, she loved her children and family.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Patricia Christopher Smith (James) of Shelby; four children, Altrinia Gilliam (Chad), William Gilliam, Christopher Gilliam and Alan Gilliam all of Shelby; her siblings, Michael Christopher (Tonya) of Union Mills, NC, Robert Christopher (April) and Denise Christopher (Patrick) both of Shelby; two grandchildren, Chance Young and Donavan Winston; her nieces and nephews, Dionna Allen, Tiffney Hopper, Keyondra Littlejohn, Robert Christopher, Jr., Damonte Poole and Dashaun Christopher; special friends, Von Walker, Revonda Smith, Shannon Glenn  and Delores Pearson and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor M. Lamont Littlejohn officiating.  Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:15 until 2:00 PM at the church on Friday and at other times at the home of her mother, Patricia Smith, 427 Murdock Circle, Shelby.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
