Alice Jacklyn “Jackie” Floyd

Mrs. Alice Jacklyn “Jackie” Floyd, 83, of Casar-Lawndale Road passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Wendover in Shelby.  

Born in Cleveland County on June 12, 1930, she is the daughter of the late Ottis Theodore Carpenter and Eula Peeler Warlick Carpenter.  Mrs. Floyd was a lifetime member of Casar Baptist Church and worked for Hudson Hosiery, Shadowline, Shelby Seamless and the Coffee Shop at Cleveland Regional. She enjoyed spending her days tending her lawn and flowers.  She was a fabulous cook and will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful mamaw. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Harold Floyd; daughter, Wanda Leigh Floyd; brother, O.T. Carpenter Jr., and sister, Elizabeth Downs.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Lynn Floyd of Casar; granddaughters and their spouses, Ashlyn Todd Harris and husband, Greg, of Earl and Kellyn Todd Holt and husband, Isaac, of Casar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.  on Wednesday in the sanctuary at Casar Baptist Church.  Condolences may be made online at www.stameyfuneralhome.com.

The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Casar Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Pruett officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
