Amanda “Ruth” Bowen Turner
Amanda “Ruth” Bowen Turner, 84, temporary resident of Stanley Total Living Center of Stanley, permanent resident of Grover, North Carolina was carried away by angels to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2014. She was born on August 31, 1930 in Kings Mountain, to the late Horace Monroe and Allie Edna Russ Bowen. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many people. She retired from Doran Textiles after 22 years of service. She was a devoted member of Victory Baptist Church of Grover. In addition to her parents, her husband of 54 years, Ray William Turner, her son David Arnold Turner and grandchild Jamie Lynn Camp preceded Mrs. Turner in death.
 
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Turner and wife, Nanette; Michael Turner and wife, Margaret; Haskel Turner; her daughters; Jean Lee and husband, Allen; Patricia England and husband, Curtis; Debbie Kennell and husband, Jess. Her sisters: Sue Whitworth; Dorothy Martin; Sisters-in-law, Faye Bowen Williamson, and Hazel Bowen, whom she thought of as sisters; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Dennis Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
