She was a 1993 graduate of R-S Central High School and a 1997 graduate of Gardner Webb University. She returned to R-S Central and worked as the Financial Administrator and cheerleading coach for a number of years. She had a lifelong love of dance, and taught lessons at The Main Event Dance Company until her health prevented her from continuing. She was an avid dog lover, especially her two favorites, Greta and Josie.

Also, left to cherish her memory are stepsons; Ridge Beheler and fiancé Allison Cooke of Caser, Ryan Beheler and wife Kayla of Forest City, grandchildren; Talon Beheler and Kaisley Beheler, her mother and stepfather, Kaye Simpson Craft and Dick Craft of Rutherfordton, sister Jana Gilbert of Rutherfordton, brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Amy Hutchens of Lyman, SC and their children Madison and Alexis Hutchens, Aunts and Uncles; Roger and Cindy Wilkerson of Rutherfordton, Ted and Dee Snyder of Terrell, NC, and Margaret Dover of Rutherfordton.
