Mrs., Anna Eskridge, 100, resident of Willow Ridge Nursing Home in Rutherfordton, formerly of Lawndale, passed away Wednesday March 19, 2014. A native of Iredell County, she was born July 2, 1913, daughter of the late Archibald and Lily Weisner Sloan. She was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church and retired from Cleveland Mills.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of approximately 65 years, Earl Eskridge; one son, Patrick Eskridge; son-in-law, Cleo Cromer, Jr.; six brothers, Dorman, Lex, Weisner, Avery, James, and  Doyle Sloan; four sisters, Edna Brown, Eunice Sloan, Emma Lou Blanton, Margaret Howell.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her only daughter, Maxine Eskridge Cromer of Shelby.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Saturday, 3:00 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at her niece’s residence, Eleanor Brackett, 1401 Wesson Road, Shelby, NC 28152.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston.
