Anne Elmore Falls

Anne Elmore Falls, 100, of Irmo, SC passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Generations Home in Chapin, SC.  Born on November 19, 1912 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Decatur and Lula Rose Warlick Elmore, she was preceded in death in 1965 by her husband Dr. Fred Falls and by a son Richard Elmore Falls.  She is survived by a son Fred Eugene Falls and his wife Susan of Irmo, SC; granddaughters Susan Falls and husband Dare Duke of Savannah, GA, Katherine Falls Mengedoht and husband Dan of Charleston, SC; grandson, Lee Falls of Charleston, SC; and five great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ira Elmore, Johnny Elmore, and Bob Elmore; her four sisters Ethel Hartigan, Verna Joyner, Mae Abernethy, and Ruth Balentine. 

Mrs. Falls graduated from Piedmont High School in Lawndale, attended Davenport College and graduated from Appalachian State Teacher’s College and she taught elementary school.  Mrs. Falls was a long-time member of Central United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.  She also enjoyed playing the piano and playing bridge with her bridge club.  She was very committed to her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and especially her grandchildren. 

A special thanks to the caregivers at Blue Ridge Hospice, the staff at Generations and her special friend Bunny Runge. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Sunset Cemetery.  Dr. Tim Elmore will be officiating.
