Area Church Briefs September 9th edition

Lunch & a Study of the Bible First Thurs.

of Each Month at Central Methodist


First Thursday -- Lunch with Susan will be celebrating its twentieth year.  This is a Shelby institution that is barely noticed, but one that draws many  women and men each month to Central Methodist Church for a community  gathering for lunch and a study of the Bible. The teacher is Susan Carlisle Bell, an art instructor at Gardner-Webb University. She also has a masters degree in Christian education. Lunch is noontime to one o’clock. Mothers of young children, and those on lunch break will appreciate that Susan begins the teaching at 12:10 and finishes by 12:50 p.m. There is no “homework,”  no  membership, and lunch is optional at $4.00. **Reservations are required for the lunch and nursery care**. Cleveland County Baptist Camp Meeting


Cleveland County Baptist Camp Meeting will be held at Delaware Drive Fallston Rd. (HWY18) between Fallston and Shelby, NC (Look for the sign), 10 Consecutive nights; Preaching the Word of God!!! Sept. 10th will be Evangelist Tom Hayes From Saluda, N.C. Sept. 11th – 15th will be Rev. Stephen Dagenhart from Calvary Baptist, Taylorsville N.C. New Camp Creek Baptist Church


We will have our YARD SALE on Saturday, September 11 from 7 am until... Also we’ll have breakfast biscuits and beverages! New Camp Creek Baptist Church, is located on New Camp Creek Ch. Rd., Kings Mountain. 


 


Pisgah Baptist Church, Casar, NC


On Saturday, September 11th we will have a Yard Sale beginning at 7 am - 2 pm, a Car Wash starting at 10 am - 2 pm, Cars $5 and Trucks and Vans $7; and Hot Dog Sale beginning at 10 am - Sold Out for $1.00 each. The church is located off Hwy. 10 onto Wards Gapm, Casar. Proceeds go toward the Youth Fund. Thank you for your support.


 


Homeland – Patriot’s Day Celebration


Homeland, A Patriot’s Day Celebration will be held Saturday, September 11, at 7:00 PM in Malcolm Brown  Auditorium, Shelby High School. This event is presented by the Music Ministries of: Calvary Baptist Church, Flint Hill Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church, Shelby and Westwood Heights Baptist Church. *A free will love offering will be received (suggested donation $3.00/person) to help with the cost of this presentation. Recognition of all active military, veterans, law enforcement, EMS, fire and rescue personnel. (We encourage you to wear your uniform, if possible.)


 


Sharon United Methodist Church


A “Treasure Chest Sale” is coming to Sharon United Methodist Church, Saturday, September 11th. Sale starts at 7:00 am until noon. Biscuits and Baked Goods will also be available. The church is located at 871 College Ave., (Hwy. 150) Shelby.


 


St. Paul’s United Methodist Church


On Saturday, September 11th, starting at 7:00 am, we will have our Annual Yard Sale. We will also have Sausage Gravy Biscuits for breakfast and our youth will be selling Hot Dogs for lunch. We will have a drawing for $100 at 12:00 noon. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The church is located at 2622 New Prospect Church Rd. Everyone is invited. 


 


New Hope Baptist Church, Vale, NC


New Hope Baptist Church, Vale, NC will be celebrating Family and Friends Day Saturday, September 11th. We will have games, door prizes, fun, food, bingo, and water slides. New Bethel Baptist, Lawndale, NC


New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale will hold their monthly breakfast buffet on Saturday, September 11, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The menu consists of bacon, eggs, grits, sausage, gravy, biscuits, coffee and plenty more. All of this is for only $5.00 a plate. All proceeds will benefit our various church and mission projects. Many thanks for all your support.


 


Fellowship Baptist Church Revival


A Revival will be held on September 12-18, at 7 p.m. nightly. There will be a different preacher each night. The church is located at CC Rd., Bostic, NC. Also, Homecoming will be held on September 12. Following the service, there will be a covered-dish dinner on the grounds. Everyone is welcome. Pastor is Eugene Bumgardner.


 


New Life Christian Fellowship

Three Night Revival

Big Springs Baptist Church, Hollis


Annual Homecoming Services will be held at Big Springs Baptist Church in Hollis on Sunday, September 12. Rev. Phil Bailey, former pastor, will be preaching at the 11:00 AM service. Lunch will be at 12:00 noon, bring a well-filled basket. Paul Scott is Pastor.


 


Bess Chapel United Methodist Church


Bess Chapel United Methodist Church, 6073 Flay Road, Cherryville, will have their 2nd Sunday Lunch on September 12, 2010. Menu is Barbecue and all the trimmings. Begins at 12:00 noon. All preoceeds go to Building Fund!

Lafayette Street United Methodist Church


There will be a High-Spirited Gospel Music & Singing held at the LSUMC Fellowship Hall on Saturday, September 18, at 6:30 PM. The singing will feature the quartet “Grateful”. Other singers will be Rev. Tom Steagald, Susan Canipe plus Beverly Engelhart and Diane Carter. There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be held to benefit the LSUMC Blanton Scholarship Fund. Free refreshments will, also, be available. Beulah United Methodist Church


The church will have a Breakfast Buffet Youth Fundraiser on Saturday, September 18th, begin serving at 7:00 am - 10:00 am. The church is located at 1534 Stony Pt. Rd., Shelby. The breakfast includes Bacon, Sausage, Livermush, Eggs, Biscuits, Sausage Gravy, and Juice and Coffee. The cost is Adults: $6.00 and Children under 12 eat for $3.00.


Dover Baptist Church


We will have our Homecoming on Sunday, September 19th. Worship Service at 11:00 am with Dr. Don Berry as our speaker. Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church


There will be a Meal and Program at the church on Tuesday, September 21 with Special Guest, Carol Davis. The meal will begin at 6:15 - 6:55 pm and the program will begin at 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm in the Sanctuary. The cost is $15.00. Carol has been in radio for over 15 years, joining the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Radio Ministry at 106.9 the Light in 2003. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 God’s Word says: “If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my fact and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.


 


Flint Hill Baptist Church


Flint Hill Baptist Church Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 25th with a Shotgun Start at 8:00 am at Woodbridge Golf Links. Entry fee is $60.00, which includes lunch and range balls. Two Flights with first and second place trophies. Gift bags and drawing for prizes. Closest to the pin prizes as well as two long drives, one for men and one for ladies & seniors. Oak Grove UMC, Lawndale Fundraiser


Sunday, Sept. 26th at 12:30pm until... Oak Grove UMC located at 418 Oak Grove Clover Hill Ch. Rd., Lawndale will be having an All You Can Eat Cookout Fundraiser after Sunday services. Hamburgers, Hotdogs and all the trimmings. Cost: Adult $7; Children $5 – 6-12 years old, and 5 and under fee. Homemade Ice Cream will also be available for $2 per cup. Britt’s Annual Bike Show Fundraiser


Everyone is welcome to attend Britt’s Annual Bike Show on October 9th beginning at 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. All bikes must ride in. This event is sponsored by Driven By Grace Biker MInistry. Auction will be at 12:00 noon and Bike Judging at 1:00 pm. All proceeds go to Crisis Pregnancy Center of Lincoln County. There will be free food, door prizes, auction, live band, and T-shirts Available. A $15.00 Entry Fee. Stand Up For Jesus!


Mobilizing Christian Men in Cleveland County will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday’s each month from Noon to 1:00 pm. Lunch provided with donation. We will meet at Christ For the Nations Church located at 409 Polkville Rd., Shelby. On Sept. 14th, we will be “Sharing the Gospel” with Jeff Sundell, Director of Last Frontiers, Intl.
