Living faithfully after the storm will be focus. If you've ever experienced a storm - physically, emotionally, or spiritually - you will want to hear Jan Harrison when she speaks. Jan experienced a storm when Hurricane Hugo made land fall, but the storm that truly changed her life raged after hearing that her only son had died on mission in Africa. She wrote of her journey in her first book, "Life After the Storm." In her second book, "Becoming a Woman Who Knows God by Name," the Charlotte resident shares how knowing who God is can uphold us even when life doesn't turn how the way we expected.
The evening begins with dinner at 6:00pm. A strawberry and candied pecan mixed green salad will be followed by grilled chicken in basil cream sauce accompanied by new red potatoes with toppings, a vegetable medley, and yeast rolls with honey-cinnamon butter; dessert will be an orange pound cake topped with orange-laced whipped cream.
Tickets are $10 and can be ordered by calling the church at 704-434-2258 before April 27; leave a message if no answer. No tickets will be available at the door.
