David Baptist Church, Kings Mountain
David Baptist Church, 2300 David Baptist Church Road, Kings Mountain, NC will be hosting their own Bethlehem Village over the next two weekends. Looking for ways to be better stewards of the land around the church, they have cleared out a large section of land right on Stoney Point Road, and have built an entire village, or at least the market place of ancient Bethlehem. Rather than a traditional live Nativity, they have made it possible for visitors to stroll through and not only visit the Inn and crib, but also a baker's tent, a potter's workshop, and a carpenters workplace. Speak with a scribe at his own workplace, and kids can learn to write some Hebrew. While there, they will also see an artist, and might get their own portrait done. Outside the city walls, there will be a bonfire with seating to enjoy marshmellows, popcorn, and some hot chocolate. The dates are Friday and Saturday, December 15 and 16, 2017, from 6:00pm -9:00pm and Friday and Saturday, December 22 and 23, 2017, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
