Carolina Cross Connection
Need home repairs? The Carolina Cross Connection volunteers are back in our area this summer. You will probably notice them as they paint homes, fix porches and wheelchari ramps, repair roofs, cut weeds and a number of other chores. Who are they and why do they work like that? The Carolina Cross Connection volunteers are good, Christian folks who want to lend a helping hand. They volunteer a week of their summer to help folks around here with home repair needs. If someone cannot afford the labor and/or materials for home repairs, these people may be able to help! There is no charge for the work. You may be asked to help provide the materials if possible, but do not let lack of materials or money stop you from calling them. If someone you know may be able to use the help of Carolina Cross Connection volunteers or if you would like to know how you can get involved, give them a call at 704-538-9113.
Boy Scout Troop 114
Boy Scout Troop 114 is having a car wash and hot dog sale on Saturday, June 12th to raise money for summer camp. We will start washing cars at 8:30 am and start selling hot dogs at 10:00 am. We are located at Polkville United Methodist Church.
El Bethel United Methodist Ch., Kings Mtn.
The church will sponsor a country style breakfast on Saturday, June 12 from 6:30-10:00 a.m. Country ham, sausage, bacon, grits, eggs, homemade biscuits, jams and jellies and coffee and juice will be served. For information call 704-739-9174.
Sunrise Baptist Church
We will have a Hot Dog Sale Fundraiser at the church, located at 208 Mail Road, (Midpines Community), Friday, June 11 beginning at 11:00 am until sale out. The plates include 2 hot dogs, slaw, chips, onions and dessert, $5.00. We will deliver if over 5 plates, call by Thursday with order. Leave a message at church, 704-734-1983, and a number and name to return the call. Pastor Dennis Harmon invites everyone to help us to build our new fellowship building.
New Bethel Baptist Church, Lawndale
Come join us for our monthly breakfast buffet on Saturday, June 12 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale from 7 am to 10 am. Our menu consists of: bacon, eggs, grits, sausage, gravy, biscuits, coffee, juice and always extras!!! All this for only $5.00 a plate!! All proceeds will benefit New Bethel’s various missons and projects!
Northside Baptist Church
On Saturday, June 12th we will have our Vacation Bible School Kickoff from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. VBS will be held Sunday, June 13th - 18th from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the church with the theme “Saddle Ridge Ranch”. For more information call 704-482-9091. Kadesh United Methodist Church
Our church will have a Fundraiser for Jeannie Beam, “Red”, to help with medical bills, Saturday, June 12th from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. We’re having a Chicken Dinner (chicken, beans, slaw, dessert and drink). You can dine-in or carry-out. The cost is $10.00 per plate. The church is located at 138 Kadesh Church Road. High Shoal Baptist Church
High Shoal Baptist Church, located at 284 High Shoals Church Rd, Henrietta, NC will sponsor a FUND-RAISER: Saturday, June 12, from 11 AM ~ 3 PM. Fun Day for all ages with games, and food. Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Chips, Dessert and Drinks. Proceeds to help build a well for needy in India.
Dover Baptist Church
Our church will be having a Church-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, June 12th in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 7:00 am. We will also have Ham, Sausage and Livermush biscuits for sale, along with coffee or soft drink. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of food for the children and adults who will attend Vacation Bible School in June. The church is located at 1501 Polkville Rd., Shelby. ALSO: Saddle Up and Hit the Trail on Saddle Ridge Ranch. In this one-week adventure you will round up questions and drive home answers through Bible stories, crafts, motivating music and games. The adventure begins for children ages 3 to grade 6. An adult class will also be held. VBS will be held June 14 - 17 and on June 18, End of Week Picnic – 5:15 - 6:00 pm Supper – 6:00 - 8:30 m Vacation Bible School at the church.
Tabernacle Baptist Church, Casar
Our church is having a Homecoming Sunday, June 13th and a Special Singing. Everyone is Welcome. Bring a covered dish and a friend. Pastor Charley Bradley will be holding service at 11:00 am. Vacation Bible School
Beaver Dam Baptist Church will hold their Vacation Bible School, “Saddle Ridge Ranch”, beginning Sunday, June 13th through Thursday, June 17th, from the hours of 5:30 til 8:00 p.m. nightly. The Way of the Cross FWB Church
The Way of the Cross FWB Church is having Sonquest Rainforest Bible School on June 18 starting at 6:30 and on June 19 starting at 10:00 in the morning. We will have games, snacks, crafts, and lots more to help us learn more about Jesus. It is for ages 3-12 and we are located at 875 E. Zion Church Road. Hope to see you there.
Elliott Memorial Baptist Church
We are having at BBQ and Outdoor Singing Saturday, June 19 at the church, located at 3939 Stick Elliott Rd., Lawndale. All you can eat BBQ for $9.00 (dine-in only). We also have carry-outs. Ages 6-10 cost $6.00 and 5 years old and under eat free. Bring lawn chairs and join us for fun, food, and fellowship. For more information, call Rev. The First Baptist Church of Shelby invited you to the Block Party Wednesday, June 23rd beginning at 5:00 - 6:30 pm. We’ll have free hot dogs and sno-cones, games, rides, and slides. This is for ages 4 - 5th grade and will be held in the parking lot on Washington St. Also our Vacation Bible School will be held June 27th - July 1st beginning at 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
