Area Church News July 7th edition
Crestview Baptist Church, Shelby
      Crestview Baptist Church will not have their breakfast on Saturday, July 2nd. They are taking the summer off and will continue on Saturday, October 1st, 2011. The church is located at Old Boiling Springs Hwy. 704-487-7485.

Buffalo Baptist Church,
       Buffalo Baptist Church, located at 108 Buffalo Church Road, Shelby, will kickoff their Vacation Bible School on Saturday, July 9, 1:00-3:00 p.m. and will continue Sunday, July 10-Thursday, July 14. A meal will be served from 5:00-6:00  p.m. and VBS from 6:00-9:00 p.m. each night. Discover adventure waiting at every corner in the Big Apple. Amid the exciting sights and sounds of the city, kids will hear Bible stories about people who stepped out in faith, and connected with Jesus. Kids will learn that we can connect faith and life through a relationship with Jesus. Westover Baptist Church
      Our Support Group for People Dealing with the Loss of a Loved One will be holding a meeting on Saturday, July 9th at 2:00 pm in the Westover Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 114 Westover Drive, Kings Mountain, NC. The MC is Joy Whittington. Everyone is welcome.

Duncan’s Creek Presbyterian Church
      Duncan’s Creek Presbyterian Church, located at 1658 Duncan’s Creek Rd., Ellenboro, NC will have a Spaghetti Supper with Live Music on Saturday, July 9th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 pm. Aldersgate United Methodist Church
      A community Breakfast will be held on Saturday, July 9th at Aldersgate UMC on Hwy 74. We will serve from 7:00 until 9:30 A. M. A delicious country breakfast of eggs, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, grits, ham, bacon, liver mush, sausage, coffee, juice and all the trimmings will be served. The breakfast is open to the entire community. Cost is $6.00 for all you can eat. (children $3.00)We serve in the Epworth Buillding (look for the cars). The money raised benefits the “Here We Grow Again” and general fund campaign. So mark your calendar, spread the word, and plan to attend the next breakfast. The breakfast is always the second Saturday of the month. See you there!!

First Baptist Church, Shelby
       First Baptist Church of Shelby, located on North Lafayette St., will hold the Annual Summer Concert of Songs and Hymns Tuesday, July 19 at 3:00 pm. Helen Gilliatt will perform on the piano and Ashley Qurollo on the violin. Uplifting musical selections will include favorite hymns and songs which relate to the theme “Ain’ –a that Good News!” The arrangement of music is planned to coordinate with Biblical passages in Hebrews, one of the books of the New Testament. Helen Gilliatt has recorded two benefit CDs, Overtones --touching the heart (to help build a church in Haiti) and Starlight -- heritage songs for Advent and Christmas (for Young Life camp scholarships). You are invited to purchase these CDs after the concert for $15.00 each. Free Admission.
Youth Rally At The Holly Oak Park Gym
       Higher Focus and Push Back Ministries, along with local area ministries, in conjunction with Shelby City Parks & Recreation will hold a Youth Rally at the Holly Oak Park (gym) on Saturday, July 23, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. They will be giving out clothes and food. There will be  Help Booths for pregnancy resources, college guidance and health department issues, etc. Bands, singing, preaching, prize drawings and ministry dancing will all be a part of the activities. High Shoal Baptist Church
