Aldersgate United Methodist Church
On Friday, May 13th, at 7:00 pm, direct form the Tri-Lakes Center in Branson, MO, The Paul Todd Show will be performing Gospel, Contemporary Christian and all your favorites from The Great American Song Book. Paul Todd, now joined by his 18 year old son, Paul Todd, Jr. and Jeff Ramsey on drums. Tickets will be given away on a first come, first served basis while supplies last. Aldersgate UMC Community Breakfast
A community Breakfast will be held on Saturday, May 14th at Aldersgate UMC on Hwy 74. We will serve from 7:00 until 9:30 am. A delicious country breakfast of eggs, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, grits, ham, bacon, liver mush, sausage, coffee, juice and all the trimmings will be served. The breakfast is open to the entire community, cost is $6.00.We serve in the in the Epworth.Buillding (look for the cars). The money raised benefits the “Here We Grow Again” campaign. So mark your calendar, spread the word, and plan to attend the next breakfast. The breakfast is always the second Saturday of the month.
Sandy Run Baptist Church
Our youth is having a Car Wash and Hot Dog Sale Saturday, May 14 at First National Bank in Boiling Springs, NC. The Car Wash begins at 9 am and the Hot Dog Sale will begin at 11 am. All proceeds will help fund the Youth’s Mission Trip to New York this summer.
Crestview Baptist Church, Shelby
It’s about time for our Custom Car Show, to be held May 14 from 10 am - 4 pm at the church. All cars welcome. Entry fee is $10.00. We will have a Bake Sale on Saturday, May 14th from 9:00 am until 12 Noon in front of Smith’s Drug Store, located on Main Street, Forest City. The ladies of our church is sponsoring this bake sale. Proceeds will go toward Ladies Day on May 21st.
Also: On Saturday, May 21st from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, our Annual Ladies 2011 will be in charge of Praise and Worship with Teresa Davis and Wendi Norton. Fearless Faith, our own local women tell their stories of their faith. Amanda Scruggs McBrayer, Chasity Burdge, Betty Jones, Dee (Allen) Westcott and others. Lunch will be provided. The Royster Avenue Church of God is sponsoring a Golf Tournament Fundraiser May 21st at Deer Brook Golf Club in Shelby. The tournament will feature $400 prize money to the winning team, $200 prize money to the 2nd place team, a $25,000 cash prize to the first golfer that makes a hole-in-one on the 14th hole, door prizes, prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive, and a $50 gift card to all registered golfers.
