Broad River Community Church
In the cold weather months many students in Cleveland County Schools do not have adequate warm clothing. There is a need for jackets, scarves, hats, gloves, sweatshirts and blankets. During the holiday season there are many needs as well for gifts and necessities. There are many opportunities for community involvement from sponsoring a child to giving a donation so a specific need can be met. Although items are needed for all ages, older students tend to be overlooked this time of year. According to an area High School Social Worker there is little assistance for older students in need. One way you can help is to make a donation of an item or items listed by December 12, 2016. Items may be dropped off at the Cleveland County Arts Council, 111 S. Washington St, Shelby, NC 28150. For more information or to volunteer contact Julie Lail at woolyboogerfarm@gmail.com. To make a monetary donation send checks to Broad River Community Church, PO Box 405, Boiling Springs, NC 28017, with "coat program" or "giving tree" in the memo. If you have items to donate that need picked up, call 434-294-2540.
