Double Springs Baptist Church
The sweet voices of five young singers will add a special magic to the annual Singing Christmas Tree presented at Double Springs Baptist Church. The fact that the first words they sing are in Latin is no problem for the girls, who have sung since they were three years old in the church’s Music Makers Choir. They are joined in the song “Gloria, Jubilate, Deo” by the fifty voices of the adult choir standing on six tiers of risers that reach to the church’s ceiling to form a gigantic Christmas tree shape. The first services featuring the “living” Christmas tree was held 29 years ago and continues, for many people,  to be the most special way to usher in the Christmas season.  Tickets are now available for the Singing Christmas Tree.  The tickets are free of charge but are required for attendance at the three services scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25; Saturday, Nov. 26; or Sunday, Nov. 27. To obtain tickets call the church office at 704,.434.2258 or call Debbie Bridges at 704.692.2975. The church is located at 1130 Double Springs Ch. Rd., Shelby.
